Music feature: Geneva AM on Waiata Anthems

When Dame Hinewehi Mohi performed the National Anthem in te reo Maori at Twickenham at the 1999 Rugby World Cup she took sparked a national conversation about culture and identity. Then in 2019, to mark the 20th anniversary, she got everyone talking again, by launching Waiata Anthems. Initially a compilation of bands performing their hits in te reo, it's grown into a musical force, many credit it with driving a massive resurgence of music in te reo Maori. To take us through some of her favourite Waiata anthems Jesse is joined by Geneva AM.
