Former race relations leader Hiwi Tauroa dies, aged 91

Hiwi Tauroa, the educator, rugby coach and former Race Relations Conciliator, has died aged 91. He held the post of Race Relations Conciliator during the 1981 Springbok tour, struggling to heal the deep divisions between anti-apartheid protesters and rugby supporters.
