Youth justice centre says tikanga focus is working

Staff at a Youth Justice Residence in Rotorua, say tikanga Maori education is helping to rehabilitate young offenders. Rangatahi who have ended up in the Youth Justice system are being taught Tikanga Maori, Kapa Haka, Te Reo and Waiata to reconnect them with their roots. Staff say the boys light up when they get to perform, and it's helping to build their confidence. RNZ's Youth Affairs Reporter Katie Doyle has more.
