A cold snap is moving up the country beginning with some snow on the Lewis and Arthur's Passes in the South Island.
Following on from that, showers are expected to develop across the West Coast and Canterbury, and much of the North Island, including the East Coast, Wellington and Wairarapa, Gisborne and Whanganui.
Warmer weather, however, is expected to kick in later in the week through until early November.
