Grand Prix

Wellington band Grand Prix have been using racing as a metaphor for life since 2002, and apparently they're not giving up the fumes anytime soon. In July they released their third album 'Terraplane Twilight', which was recorded under the watchful eye of producer Brett Stanton, and recorded - coincidentally - in the premises of a Car Club. Since their 2005 album 'The Way of the Racer' they've had a line-up change- gone is the Mariachi-style trumpet, and the original Bass player has been replaced by Nato Hickey, who played in Paselode and Fly My Pretties. Stepping up on keys, guitar and BV's is Adam Ladley, who also plays in the Bonnie Scarlets. Kirsten Johnstone visited frontman Andrew McKenzie and drummer Davey Geard to find out more.
