This Weekend: Art as Food down in Invercargill

From Nights, 8:20 pm on 22 August 2025

Every Friday we like to check in with people who are cooking up something a little different for the weekend ahead.

Tonight we're heading right down to the bottom of the Mainland, to Invercargill, where an art exhibition with a twist has just opened.

It's called The Potluck. A group of Southland artists have come together, working across all sorts of mediums, to capture the colour, creativity and nostalgia of the classic Kiwi potluck.

One of those artists is photographer and videographer Jenna-lee Shave. She chats to Mark Leishman.

The artists behind The Potluck exhibition are Natalie Jarvis, left, Jenna-lee Shave, Nicola Mcgilvray (seated), Angela Railton and Bridget Higham. The exhibition runs at the Art Attic Gallery until August 30. Photo: SUPPLIED
