An elderly woman has died after she was hit by a car in Auckland's North Shore last night.
The woman, a pedestrian, was hit by a car on Taharoto Road in Takapuna about 7pm.
She was taken to Auckland hospital in a critical condition but later died.
Meanwhile, two other women remained in a critical condition after separate crashes overnight.
One of them was also in Auckland Hospital after being cut from her car following a crash last night.
Police said the car crashed into a tree in the suburb of Blockhouse Bay shortly after 11pm.
Another woman was in Waikato Hospital after being hit by a car in Hamilton about 9.30pm.
The serious crash unit was investigating all three incidents.
