Live: Māori Queen to join hīkoi mō Te Tiriti to Parliament

There's been a strong show of support for the South island hīkoi as it arrives in Picton, with participants due to unite with those already preparing to march on Parliament tomorrow.

Scores of people have turned out along the way in places such as Blenheim and Kaikōura, some with tino Rangatira flags and making clear their opposition to the Treaty Principles Bill.

There will be extra buses and train carriages to ease congestion in the capital as te Hīkoi mō te Tiriti arrives at Parliament on Tuesday.

However, commuters are still being warned to still allow extra time for travel, and add one or even two hours to their trips.

Meanwhile, the Māori Queen, Nga wai hono i te po, will join the national hīkoi to Parliament on Tuesday, saying she will not accept a process which undermines Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
