England have beaten Senegal 3-nil in the round of 16 knockout stage to advance to the Qatar FIFA World Cup quarterfinals.

The Three Lions dominated possession in the first-half but chances were few and far between for the opening 30 minutes at the Al Bayt Stadium this morning.

England midfielder Jordan Henderson opened the scoring in the 38th minute, cushioning a shot into the bottom right after Jude Bellingham found him in the box with an infield pass.

Shortly after Harry Kane made it two, scoring his first goal of the World Cup at the end of a slick England counterattack.

Jude Bellingham carried the ball upfield before playing it to Phil Foden to make it a two-on-one attack. Foden then played it to Kane who took a touch before unleashing a clinical finish past the Senegal keeper.

In the second half, Bukayo Saka finished off proceedings with a third goal, latching on to a low cross into the box from Foden to lift the ball over Edouard Mendy into the back of the net.

Despite an energetic start to the game, Senegal failed to threaten England's defense for much of the game with the side appearing dejected by the closing stages.

However, the Senegal fans in the stands kept the atmosphere alive during their side's lacklustre performance, dancing and singing throughout the match.

England are now set to meet defending champions France in the quarterfinals at 8am on Sunday.
