Almond Biscuits
Blanch half a pound of almonds and cut them up into very thin strips. Add about the same quantity of flour and sugar, some ground cinnamon, some pounded cloves and a little brandy or lemon juice. Beat the whites of two eggs to a froth; add this to the rest with 1½ yolks of eggs. Mix into a paste, roll out, make into biscuits, and before putting them in the oven brush them over with the other half yolk of egg.
