Stonestead Devonshire Tea Scones
Ingredients
- knob of butter, melted in microwave
- 4-5 cupfuls of flour
- teaspoon of salt
- 8 scoops baking powder
- 500 mls (jug full)
- milk
Method
Mix the water with the melted butter.
Add to dry ingredients
Add milk until the consistency is right (50-60 mls milk approx). The consistency has to feel right
Sprinkle top with flour. Scoop out onto a board. Knead into a long sausage.
Cut with round cookie cutter. Spread each bit out.
Then add key ingredient – date, sultana, cheese, plain – fold it up and re-shape with the cutter.
Put it in a hot oven for 10 minutes. Simple!
