Samaki Harra - Spicy Fish

Ingredients

  • 2 fish fillets (snapper)
  • 2 sweet chillis
  • 1 onion
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 Tablespoon of cumin
  • 1 Tablespoon of coriander
  • Salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon of paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon of harissa (or chilli paste)
  • 1 Tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 2 lemons
  • 3 chopped tomatoes

Method

  • Preheat the oven at 180°C.
  • Mix the olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, coriander and cumin. Marinate the fish with this mix. Cover in tin foil and put it in the oven.

For the sauce:

  • Sautéed the chopped garlic and chopped onions in a pan with a bit of oil, salt and pepper until they are soft.
  • Add the chilli and the tomato paste and mix.
  • Add the chopped tomato and the chopped sweet chilli. Cook until soft.
  • Remove the fish from the oven and cover with the sauce. Sprinkle some fresh coriander on top.
