The Blind Boys of Alabama are living legends of gospel music. From their inception in the late 1930s, when they were all boys, the group's members turned their handicap into their chief selling point, initially singing traditional black gospel music in a segregated South to eventual mainstream acclaim, including five Grammy Awards and performing at the White House for Presidents Bush, Clinton and Obama.

With an uplifting and soulful repertoire including collaborations with Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed and Bon Iver, to some of the world’s favourite traditional gospel tunes, they are the only long-time gospel group to stay active and make an impact on music in the 21st century, always staying true to themselves and their spiritual message.

At WOMAD 2020 they put on a show to a capacity audience at the Bowl Of Brooklands that, for many, was one of the highlights of the WOMAD weekend.

Song Titles: Walk in Jerusalem, People Get Ready, Spirit in the Sky, Almost Home, I Can See, God knows Everything, Soldier, There Will Be A Light, Down in the Hole, Uncloudy Day, Do Lord, Amazing Grace, Look Where He Brought Me From.
