Hue, Saturation, and Brightness form a cylindrical co-ordinate system for colour.
Gretchen Albrecht’s Golden Cloud (1973) provided a stimulus, and point-of-departure for the composition of this work, which was commissioned by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra for their 2017 concert series.

Biography
Reuben Jelleyman (1993 - ) is a composer based in Wellington. He studied at the New Zealand School of Music and Victoria University of Wellington in Music and Physics, and has had music performed by Avanti! (Finland), the NZSO, NZTrio, and at the Asian Composers League Festival (Singapore 2013, Vietnam 2016).
In 2015 Jelleyman was nominated for the prestigious SOUNZ Contemporary award for the work Expanse.

The composer also has a practice in audio-visual installation work, including solo and collaborative multi-disciplinary work and in broader electronic music production.
Current projects include The Garden of Forking Paths - a new chamber opera, a new work for the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, a new work for the National Youth Orchestra, Dirac - a multimedia installation for Lux (2017), and a number of solo pieces for post-graduate performers at the NZSM.
