Wellington choir Baroque Voices is celebrating three decades of music making with a special anniversary concert on 1 September.

The concert is in Sacred Heart Cathedral, the venue where the ensemble performed its first concert in 1994. Baroque Voices will be the first group to perform there since the cathedral reopened after an earthquake-strengthening refit.

Three to Seven's Bryan Crump spoke with founder and music director, soprano Pepe Becker about why she started up the ensemble, the music it performs, and the commissioning of New Zealand works over the past three decades.
