Anthony Ritchie has composed an oratorio to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme. Commissioned by Dunedin Symphony for Arts Festival Dunedin the work uses text from many writers including brilliant Dunedin mathematician Alexander Aitken, who took his violin to the front.
