Auckland-based composer Chris Artley recently added the 2nd Leeds Philharmonic Society Christmas Carol Competition to his list of competition successes.
Over the summer Chris was in Nelson for the annual Teapot Valley Summer School where top English conductor Ben Parry worked with the singers on a performance of Chris’s ‘Missa Brevis Akarana’.

Ben, who’s Director of National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, described Chris’ Mass as full of “memorable tunes and lush harmonies, with a great sense of musical line and harmonic structure.”
