Sam Rich is a 26-year-old percussionist. He’s sub-principal percussionist in the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and also the NZSO’s youngest member.
Sam talked to Upbeat about his love for percussion instruments, the subtleties of playing the triangle - which can sometimes be like "trying to whisper with two bits of metal" - and the orchestra’s upcoming concert in which the percussion section gets quite a workout.
