Fiji's Methodist church says the line between what it can and can't discuss at its upcoming annual conference is very fine.
The military-led government has given the church permission to hold its annual meeting for the first time in four years, but discussion of politics will not be allowed.
The church's deputy general secretary, Reverend Tevita Banivanua, says people are being told to discuss the constitution, which is political in nature, but the church is not allowed to discuss anything political.
"There are issues of a social nature, that the church always upholds, that we do not know that we can do that. Because it's part of our mission to continue to say, you know things like casinos and those other things that we have always been against since the beginning of methodism."
