A bill seeing to take the assets of individuals convicted of supplying or distributing illegal drugs has been introduced in the Northern Marianas.
The bill seeks stricter deterrents against those wanting to sell and distribute "ice" by proposing those convicted forfeit their assets.
The forfeited funds will be deposited in a Department of Corrections revolving account to be spent at the discretion of the attorney general and the Department of Public Safety commissioner.
Another recent bill has sought to allocate $300,000 to the agencies to supplement their drug enforcement efforts.
