Vanuatu's Cooperative Business Network is now up and running and selling fresh produce from around the country.
The general manager, Jack Loughman, said the netwok is selling product through its new market house built on the site of the former Cooperative Federation on the road leading to Port Vila International Airport.
The market house has been designed to buy fresh produce from farmers through the existing networks in the other Vanuatu islands and ship them to Port Vila for sale.
The Director General of Trade, Roy Mickey Joy, has welcomed the new facility as a way of stopping the import of fresh goods from Australia and New Zealand.
