DEREK WINDESSY: They still try to find people who (are) still missing, yeah. It's not part of Red Cross activity, it's part of another team from government activity with the police.
JENNY MEYER: Is it still raining there?
DW: No, not since Saturday, from Saturday sorry.
JM: When do you think the people will be able to go home?
DW: Some people already return to their old home but some cannot do because their home is really damaged. So people cannot go home. They still living in the posts. The government is already setting a new post with a wide area so people can stay there together.
JM: Are there any concerns about disease outbreak with all of the water?
DW: Yeah. We are preparing in Red Cross, we are preparing for the health services, and for the water supply for the people. And then doing the toilets for the people in the posts where the people are gathering together.
JM: What are the main concerns that the Red Cross has now for the people of the Sentani floods?
DW: We are starting with the build of toilets for the people and starting to distribute water. And we will starting again distribute our Red Cross items such as family kits, kitchenware, and cleaning tools, and baby kits. Because the items just arrived here from Jakata. Since Saturday we were waiting until today and we will distribute to the people according to our systems.
JM: Ok and what about for those people who have not been able to find their family members, is there some sort of coordination for families?
DW: Yeah we still, yeah we already open, open the RFL. RFL is Restore Family Links, our programme here in Red Cross. But until now there is no people come and report their missing people. We make an announcement for the people, if they're still looking for missing people they can report to us and we can try to find the people.
