An opposition attempt to pass a motion of no confidence in Fiji's government lasted all of three hours on Wednesday.
Notice of a motion was submitted by the main opposition party, SODELPA, and was due to be debated after dinner that night.
But a short while later, it was withdrawn ahead of an urgent debate.
Sodelpa's leader, Sitiveni Rabuka, explained the party's reasoning to Jamie Tahana.
