Vanuatu's workers union says it's encouraged by recent actions by a group of ni-Vanuatu seasonal workers in Australia to assert their rights in the face of exploitative conditions.
Dozens of ni-Vanuatu on Australia's Seasonal Worker Program won a settlement after taking legal action against an agriculture contractor for gross underpayment and mistreatment.
Koroi Hawkins spoke to RNZ Pacific's Johnny Blades, who has been following events, about the settlement.
