The international organisation, Conciliation Resources, has been operating around the Pacific for more than 20 years.
It has spent considerable time through that period in the autonomous Papua New Guinea region of Bougainville, which was the centre of a devastating conflict through the nineties.
Many issues still impact the people of Bougainville and it is in this environment that Ciaran O'Toole from Concilation Resources has spent a lot of time in.
He spoke with RNZ Pacific's Don Wiseman.
