Nauru has pulled out of the Pacific Islands Forum leaders retreat on Aitutaki casting doubt on whether the so called "rift" in the Forum has truly mended.
Palau's president, Surangel Whipps Jr confirmed Nauru opted out of the retreat has asked the rest of the Micronesian leaders to represent the nation under Mr Adeang.
RNZ Pacific reporter Lydia Lewis is in Aitutaki and spoke with Pacific Waves host Susana Suisuiki during the welcoming reception.
