The Cook Islands are set to ban imitation tobacco products like e-cigarettes and raise the smoking age from 18 to 21.
Any breach of the new vape regulations by individuals could result in a NZD$100,000 fine or up to three months in prison.
While businesses caught importing imitation tobacco products face a $1 million fine, additionally, non-compliant businesses will incur a daily penalty of $100,000 for each day the violation continues.
