We're featuring musicals on our Great Albums this week and today we start with a real classic From 1965, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, The Sound of Music tells the story of a young Austrian nun in Salzburg in 1938 who is sent to the villa of retired naval officer Captain Georg von Trapp to be governess to his seven children.
After bringing love and music into the lives of the family through kindness and patience, she marries their father, and together with the children they flee Nazi-occupied Austria.
