RNZ has created an Asia unit, largely based here in Auckland to reflect the diversity in our communities and share their stories.
The team's been together since July last year - so coming up one year. They've been doing an amazing job sharing stories from Indian and Chinese communities who have made Aotearoa their home.
Among the team is senior journalist Gaurav Sharma, he's got his own incredible story to share which culminates in him in finally being reunited with his wife and daughter next week after many years apart.
He shares his story with Jesse.
