Wastebusters is a waste minimisation project. It started 25 years ago after the people of Wanaka banded together to reduce the waste going to landfill. The result was a recycling center.
Since then, their programmes have grown to include compost, repair hubs, programmes in local schools. Most recently they started Every Bite, a scheme to cut down the $1500 per year of food the average household is throwing away each year.
