Today's so called "mega strike" has seen tens of thousands of teachers, nurses, doctors and other workers walk off the job today.
One bundred thousand people were expected to take to the streets today; the wild weather will have put a dent in those numbers, but the strike action will still be felt by many of us.
Today's action is the latest in a series of strikes this year, as it seems pay negotiations have hit an impasse. And that got us thinking, what can be done in situations where there is a stalemate and indeed what are some tips for negotiating in general?
