Matata locals furious they could be forced from their homes

Some residents in Matata, Bay of Plenty, have been asked to leave their properties because a flood or debris event in the future could result in loss of life. Checkpoint investigates why it took the council 12 years to assess the risk after a debris flow event in 2005 destroyed homes.
