Waimea Dam project dead in the water

New costings put the price tag for the Waimea Community Dam in the Tasman District at over $100 million dollars - $26 million more than estimated. Mayor Richard Kempthorne says it's now unlikely to go ahead, a move that supporters say will slow urban growth and curb primary production.
