Immigration New Zealand says there was no special treatment for Green MP Ricardo Menendez March, when it granted his partner a visa.
His partner was living in Mexico and was granted a six-month visitor visa in January - while the Green MP was also in Mexico.
Immigration was grilled at a select committee yesterday about the processes used to grant the visa - and officials went back to check there was nothing untoward going on.
