Auckland Councillors have lamented a funding crisis faced by local government at a meeting to set out the consultation for council's ten year budget.
They met today to adopt the consultation document on mayor Wayne Brown's proposal for the Long Term Plan.
The mayor's plan includes establishing a three-billion-dollar wealth fund for the city, and options to return some land around the Ports of Auckland for development.
Today, elected members gave impassioned speeches for and against what was on the table.
Finn Blackwell was there.
