Abuse in care survivors react to govt redress payments

There are mixed reactions to the government's announcement today of redress payments for those tortured in the Lake Alice psychiatric hospital's child and adolescent unit in the 1970s. The minister responsible, Erica Stanford, said the $22.68 million package involves $150,000 redress payments to survivors, although they will be able to instead opt for an individual assessment of what they should be paid.
