A strong champion of fellow indie musicians, our guest for Fast Favourites this week is singer songwriter Vera Ellen.
Last year Vera toured China with Bird Party, Australia with Crowded House, released an EP, and added to her awards shelf, winning the prestigious Taite Music Prize.
The Taite is dedicated to "bold and boundary breaking albums", and Vera won for her last Ideal Home Noise.
There turns out to be some synchronicity in having Vera Ellen on this week, as the finalists for the 2025 Taite Prize have just been announced.
Vera Ellen will play the prize ceremony on April 15 and before that she plays free urban street festival Cubadupa in hometown Pōneke Wellington on the 29th and 30th of March.
