Kiwi dancer April Laangstraat recently competed in Florida and won silver in her age group with her variation from Coppelia.
Off the back of that win, the 14-year-old has now been offered a 3-year scholarship to one of her dream schools.
Winners and alumni of the YAGP have gone on to study and dance with prestigious academies including American Ballet Theatre, New York City, Paris Opera and The Royal Ballet.
April is coached by Medhi Angot, who has toured the world with ballet dancing with Paris Opera, the English National Ballet and Nice Opera Ballet.
He's now based in Wellington helping young dancers reach their international goals.
April and Medhi spoke to Culture 101 about the recent success at the YAGP.
