Dean Cowles is Southern Cross Healthcare's National Nursing Adviser Maori Affairs who's work looks at Te Tiriti o Waitangi in Healthcare, inequities in Maori health and cultural awareness and safety. His career also saw him work as a nurse at Christchurch Hospital where he was on the frontline in March 2019 when victims of the Mosque shootings poured into the hospital, a scene he describes as "organised chaos with blood everywhere."
Dowse Art Museum launches new exhibition, Pōhatu Roa

The Dowse Art Museum in Lower Hutt has just launched a new exhibition Pōhatu Roa, Stories in Stone. The museum's director Karl Chitham also recently accompanied a group of Maori artists to Germany where contributed the Dowse contributed 70 jewellery works from its collection to an exhibition in Munich
