Hautapu ceremonies have occurred across Aotearoa this morning. And that is also the case in Tamakimakaurau.
Hundreds gathered at Orakei in Tamaki Makaurau to participate in Hautapu ki Takaparwha led by Ngati whatua Orakei. Tangata tiriti and tangata whenua stood pokohiwi ki te pokohiwi as karakia, whaikorero, waiata and haka celebrating each indivjdual star of the matariki cluster.
