Health leaders are nervous that with the ease of restrictions on Auckland - Māori will be disproportionately impacted.
While the city is staying at level 3, from midnight two households can meet up, as long as it's outside and there are no more than ten people.
There are also loose plans for the city to open up as time goes by, with a push to get vaccination rates up across the board.
But Covid-19 vaccination rates among Māori are only about two-thirds of those of the general population.
Awerangi Tamihere, from Te Whānau o Waipareira and who will help lead the Maori Health Authority, joined Māni Dunlop.
