Lyttelton Port faces disruptions as workers strike

Lyttelton Port customers are preparing for significant disruption, after more than half of the port's workers walked off the job at midnight on Monday night. More than 20 mediation meetings have been held between the Port Company and the Rail and Maritime Transport Union as they try to reach an agreement over pay and safety negotiations. But on Monday those negotiations broke down.
