Call for rahui on commercial eeling on Wairua river

The rivers campaigner Millan Ruka is calling for an end to commercial eeling on parts of two Northland rivers. Mr Ruka and hapu helpers have just finished a survey of eel numbers on the Wairua and Northern Wairoa, funded by the environmental trust, Reconnecting Northland. And he says the news is not good.
