Lawyers seek review of closed-door Op Burnham inquiry
The Government's inquiry into Operation Burnham is facing a challenge in the High Court. The inquiry is being held in response to allegations made in the book Hit and Run, which said the military covered up the deaths of six civilians in the army operation in Afghanistan in 2010. The inquiry will be held mostly behind closed doors, and Deborah Manning, a lawyer who represents some of the Afghan villagers at the centre of the claims, applied for a judicial review on Wednesday. Deborah Manning speaks to Susie Ferguson.
