Tairawhiti exhibition for taonga taken to Europe 250 years ago

Precious taonga taken back to England after James Cook's first voyage to New Zealand 250 years ago have been returned from Europe on loan, for an exhibition opening today at Gisborne's Tairawhiti Museum. The 37 items include carvings, paddles, belts, and clothing, and have been sent from five museums in England and Germany, after 10 years of negotiations.
