Jacinda Ardern's intervention gives hope on visas

New Zealand citizen who was turned down for a visa for his wife from India hopes intervention from Jacinda Ardern will make a difference.

A change in approach by immigration officials has made it harder for people in arranged marriages to bring their spouses to the country.

But on Wednesday the Prime Minister said officials made the changes without Cabinet authority and she has asked Immigration New Zealand to reverse its tougher stance on partnership visas.

Harinder Sikka, a technology specialist, hopes this will mean his case can be reviewed.
