Māori health authority picks up pace

The arrival of a long-awaited independent Māori health authority is picking up pace. 

Associate Health Minister Peeni Henare says the draft of an agency tasked with ending years of health inequity is going to Cabinet in the coming weeks. 

One Māori health advisor says providers are ready to make it work, but the authority will need a budget of about $5 billion a year.
