The Director General of Health Ashley Bloomfield, says officials are considering booster injections for those who received their Pfizer vaccines at the start of the year.
A new study out from researchers in Britain has found the protection offered by two doses of Pfizer against Covid-19 begins to fade within six months of the second injection, with the effectiveness of the vaccine dropping form 88 percent to 74 percent.
They also found a 10 percent drop in effectiveness of the AstraZeneca vaccine after five months.
Corin Dann asked Dr Bloomfield whether officials are considering booster shots as a result.
