School teachers and principals look set to refuse a $6000 pay rise and dig in their toes for more.
For most teachers the Education Ministry's offer works out to be about half the increase their unions are seeking.
The Post Primary Teachers Association has already rejected the offer and the Educational Institute representing primary and intermediate staff is putting it to a vote but says it is not good enough.
