The person looking after Waikato Regional Council's response to the weather system walloping parts of the area says the Coromandel in particular is entering "unknown territory" as it struggles to cope with the system.
Rick Liefting says the worrry today is not just about flooding but the geology of the area, and how it may or may not behave as the region braces for another rough day.
